Single women may choose to use therapeutic donor insemination (TDI) as a method of family formation. This may be motivated by concern of not finding a life partner, being worried about reproductive aging or it may be a lifestyle choice.  The clinic can help in making this a safe and successful procedure. The clinic currently utilizes 3 sperm banks Origin Sperm Bank (Toronto, Ontario), Can-Am Cryoservices (Hamilton, Ontario) and Canada Cryobank (Hamilton, Ontario).  Sperm bank counselors will assist in the process of choosing an anonymous donor.  The donors are carefully screened for psychological and genetic conditions and are tested for infectious diseases to ensure safe and healthy outcomes.  Using a known donor is also possible as long as the donor is appropriately processed, screened and quarantined.  All patients using sperm donation meet with our clinic psychologist to discuss the unique issues encountered when considering third party reproduction.
