“My husband and I welcomed our daughter in October 2018 thanks to the help and support of the Calgary Regional Fertility Program.”

I was referred to the clinic due to a known fertility issue and was assigned Dr. Foong as our primary physician. I found Dr. Foong to be very knowledgeable, professional and personable. I appreciated her honest and straightforward approach when having difficult discussions. She encouraged us to pursue Clomid as a first line and most economical treatment option. We did get pregnant after several cycles but unfortunately that pregnancy ended in miscarriage. Based on our success in getting pregnant, Dr. Foong encouraged us to try Clomid for another few cycles but supported our decision to move directly to IVF.

Once we decided on IVF, the process moved very quickly. Although it is overwhelming and confusing at times and although you interact with various different doctors, nurses and embryologists throughout the process, we always had 100% confidence that we were in the place that gave us the best shot at achieving our ultimate dream. In the end, IVF through RFP was very successful for us. All but one of our eggs fertilized and 100% of those made to blastocysts. We did a fresh transfer which resulted in our daughter and froze the rest. We attribute this success to the protocol selected by the doctors, the communication of the nurses and the dedicated work of the lab staff and embryologists.
My husband and I recently returned to RFP to discuss the next steps for a frozen transfer. Although we are realistic that there are no guarantees with infertility treatment, we are comfortable putting our trust in RFP again and we believe that the team there will put 100% effort into giving us another successful outcome.
