Dr. Gotz obtained his medical degree from Queen’s University in 2010 and was the class recipient of the embryology and histology award. Following the completion of his residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Alberta, Dr. Gotz completed his fellowship in Gynecologic Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility at Mount Sinai Hospital, University of Toronto. He is double certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in OBGYN and GREI. In addition to joining the Regional Fertility Program, Dr. Gotz is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Calgary.

Dr. Gotz’ areas of interest and research include optimizing IVF cycles for poor ovarian responders as well as reproductive ethics. His most recent publication, which explores ethical distribution of government funded IVF from a patient perspective, won Best Psychosocial Paper at the Canadian Fertility & Andrology Society 2017 Annual Clinical Meeting. Dr. Gotz was a speaker and an organizing committee member for the Canadian Fertility & Andrology Society’s annual reproductive ethics series for 2016 and 2017: The Gatekeeper’s Dilemma.
