Investigations and Assessment

Testing is required for all individuals and their partners (if applicable) planning to be involved in pregnancy. This testing also includes partners (if applicable) that will not be contributing gametes to the creation of the pregnancy. This testing is required to make an accurate diagnosis and to plan and optimize treatment. This testing may also be required by Health Canada to minimize the impact of any potential infectious diseases on either patient and/or pregnancy.

Generally screening for females includes an investigation of ovarian reserve, blood hormone levels to assess ovulation, and uterine cavity and tubal patency testing.

Assessment of males usually involves a semen analysis and semen antibody testing.

Other testing may be required as determined by your RFP physician.

At your initial consultation, all parties involved in the fertility treatment will need to be present as the medical history for all parties will be reviewed and discussed.
